My reading mantra for 2017 has been to read for pleasure. I’m an avid Goodreads user and keep track of my books there.
According to Goodreads tracking: I read 37,106 pages across 149 books. The average length of the books I read was 249 pages. I read more in 2017 than I did in 2016: 43 more books and 10,433 more pages. While I read substantially more, I would have liked to hit 150 books read. So close! For 2018 I challenged myself to 150 books.
Most-Read genres:
Romance
Comics
Picture books
Young Adult
I noticed what changed the most from last year is that I read more Picture books this year than Young Adult. This statistic makes me sad. I haven’t been as excited by Young Adult books this year as much as I have in the past.
Below are lists of my favourite books of 2017. The lists aren’t in any order, they just are the books I squeed with joy while reading and couldn’t get out of my head afterwards.

The Day of the Duchess (Scandal & Scoundrel #3) by Sarah Maclean
